Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit is generally only available to those who have permanent right to reside in the UK. If a person who doesn't have permanent right submits a claim, the Home Office may be informed, which could result in deportation. Fringe benefits can include, but are not limited to: group insurance (health, dental, life etc.), income protection, retirement benefits, daycare, tuition reimbursement, sick leave, vacation (paid (esp. teaching) and non-paid), social security, profit sharing, funding of education and other specialized benefits. Benefit concerts typically feature popular performers working for little or no pay. The largest such effort in recent memory was the multi-venue Live 8 concert organized by Bob Geldof, who has arranged a number of similar events. Employee benefits in the United States could include relocation assistance, health and dental plans; retirement benefit plans; group-term life and long term care insurance plans, legal assistance plans, adoption assistance, child care benefits and possibly other miscellaneous employee discounts (e.g. movies and theme park tickets, hotels and resorts, and so on). Generally non-cash benefits received by an employee are referred to as 'fringe benefits'. Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) applies to most, although not all, fringe benefits. Most fringe benefits are also reported on employee payment summaries for inclusion on personal income tax returns that must be lodged annually. The rationale behind FBT is that it helps restore equity and fairness to those employees who do not receive such benefits. American corporations may also offer cafeteria plans to their employees. These plans would offer a menu and level of benefits for employees to choose from. In most instances, these plans are funded by both the employees and by the employer(s). The portion paid by the employees are deducted from their gross pay before federal and state taxes are applied. However, that portion would still be subject to the FICA tax. Employee benefits (also called fringe benefits, perquisites, or perks) are various non-wage compensations provided to employees in addition to their normal wages or salaries. Where an employee exchanges (cash) wages for some other form of benefit this is generally referred to as a 'salary sacrifice' arrangement. Child benefit (or children's allowance) is a social security payment payable given to the parents or guardians of children. Child benefit is means-tested in some countries. A benefit concert is a concert featuring musicians, comedians, or other performers that is held for a charitable purpose, often directed at a specific and immediate humanitarian crisis. Such events raise both funds and public awareness to address the cause at issue.
